Over than 800 people at Casa della sostenibilità
House of sustainability
The House of Sustainability has concluded its first series of events dedicated to the reflection on sustainable development. Seminars for USI students, projections in the planetarium for schools and the public, theatrical performances and round tables that altogether welcomed over 800 people.
In March we started the shows at the astronomical planetarium: for the public the brand new show "There is a planet B?", while for the 20 schools that visited us was offered the show "A journey into the cosmos".
In April, during the first "High Altitude Experience" at the Casa, USI students had the opportunity to talk with different experts and participate in a round table discussion with a philosopher and climate activist about the role of environmental activism today. A few days later, the Italian artist Lucilla Giagnoni made a stop in the Leventina valley with her theatrical show "Terra - A Bill of Rights".
In May, with a round table, we reflected on the possibility of creating a happier economy by adopting the principles of sustainability. During the second event "Altitude Experience" with students, we discussed land management, community value and collaboration. We then returned to the theater, this time as protagonists and decision makers of our actions, with the company Trickster-p and the show "Eutopia".
In June, we screened at the Cinema Leventina the film "I, captain", briefly introduced by Professor Ilaria Espa, an expert in international law.
On the first of august we will celebrate with the whole Airolo's community the opening of this university antenna with a day of activities for the whole family.
